EPI Meeting in Copenhagen

Denis McCarthy attended a two day meeting of the Guidelines Subcommittee of the European Patent Practice Committee (EPPC) of the European Patent Institute (EPI) in Copenhagen on August 27/28^th 2015. . The subcommittee reviewed and commented in detail on the proposed changes to the latest edition   of “Guidelines for Examination in the European Patent Office” to be brought into force at the end of 2015 and also on the first edition of “Guidelines for Search and Examination at the European Patent Office as PCT Authority” also to be introduced at the end of 2015. Both of these publications will be essential tools for all European Patent Attorneys prosecuting European patent applications and International PCT application before the European Patent Office, as they incorporate the latest changes in practice and regulations under the European Patent Convention and also the law as interpreted by the Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office.
