We are excited to announce that we are hiring at MacLachlan & Donaldson. We are actively recruiting both a patent attorney and a trademark attorney.
Patent Attorney
For the patent attorney role, the candidate should ideally be at PhD-level in a disciple related to Electronics and/or Computer Science. You should be a qualified or part-qualified European Patent Attorney with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
You will need strong communication skills, be able to work well in a team and be experienced in juggling a challenging work load. You should also have a client service and growth mindset and be excited to help gain new clients and grow the business.
The position can be based at our offices in Dublin or Belfast, but will be an all Ireland and European focused role. We are also open to some element of remote working.
Trademark Attorney
We are also looking to fill a position within the trademark team.
Ideally you are an Irish or European qualified trademark attorney or a qualified lawyer with IP experience and an interest in specialising in trademark practice and a willingness to gain ROI trademark credentials.
You will be taking on a portfolio of existing work, and duties will range from registrations and filings, to searches, watches, oppositions, cancellation and revocation work as well as advising clients on filing and overall IP management strategies. You will take full responsibility for client portfolios through our ProDelta system including monitoring deadlines and working with clients and trade mark attorneys to ensure that deadlines are met in a timely manner. You will also have a client service and growth mindset and be excited to gain new clients and grow the business.
You should have strong communication skills, be able to work well in a team and be experience in juggling a challenging work load. You should have impeccable organisational skills. You should be a self-starter with the desire and ability continuously to acquire, build upon and share knowledge.
